Industrial Mayday

The Foundation for the Preservation of Industrial Heritage invites you to participate in the 3rd Industrial May Day, which this year will take place from April 27 to May 5, 2024. During these 9 days, we invite you to the museums that are part of the Foundation’s network.

We encourage visits to the museums located in Lower Silesia (Railway Museum, Hilbert Mill, and Museum of Agricultural Technology) with a 3-in-1 ticket.

Railway Museum in Silesia in Jaworzyna Śląska

The jubilee year marking the 20th anniversary of the Railway Museum is a special occasion for celebration. During the long May weekend, we will tell you the history of the Museum from the time of its founding, highlighting the key moments, exhibitions, and events that contributed to its development and renown. A visit to the Museum will include, among other things, a tour of the railway workshop equipped with historic, operational machines and tools. Throughout the day, there will be rides on historic rolling stock on the railway siding. During breaks, we invite you to a picnic with regional cuisine.

Rolling Zinc Mill WALCOWNIA in Katowice

We invite you to the International Exhibition of Railway Models „Train to the Rolling Mill”. The exhibition will feature models of railway vehicles in 1:120 scale (TT) on the largest model railway layout in Katowice – over 400 m². A special attraction of the event will be „night rides” and a simulator of the EU07 electric locomotive.

Silesian Porcelain Museum in Tułowice


The 120th anniversary of the administrative building of the former Schlegelmilch Factory, which has just been made available after several years of conservation work, is a special opportunity to celebrate the achievements of Tułowice. During the tour, we will tell you the history of the Factory from the moment of its establishment, highlighting key moments that contributed to the development and reputation of the entire town. For children, there is a ceramics workshop and a playground.

Agricultural Technology Museum in Piotrowice Świdnickie

We invite you to the Agricultural Technology Museum located in a Renaissance castle in Piotrowice Świdnickie. We will present the history, richness, and achievements of agriculture – one of the most important industrial sectors. During the May Day holiday at the Manor, you can relax in nature, view a collection of vintage agricultural machines, and watch tractor driving demonstrations.

Visiting Information

  • The Museum is open daily from April 27 to May 5, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
  • We invite you for guided tours of the castle and the agricultural machinery exhibition every hour on the hour.

Hilbert Mill in Dzierżoniów

Hilbert Mill in Dzierżoniów is one of the most interesting attractions in the Owl Mountains region. The authentic building and pre-war machinery impress visitors. Tours of the complete technological line for the production of groats, flours, and bran are conducted by guides, who are former mill employees.

Visiting Information

  • The Mill is open daily from April 27 to May 5, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM
  • Due to the industrial nature of the site, tours are conducted exclusively with a guide and wearing a safety helmet,
  • On May 1, 2024, and May 3, 2024, we invite you to demonstrations of flour puffing and the „At the Miller’s Wife” workshops.
