Zinc Metallurgy Museum

The museum is part of Foundation for the Protection of Silesian Industrial Heritage, the largest independent non-governmental organization in Poland involved in the planned protection and promotion of technical monuments.

The museum presents the history of the development of zinc metallurgy in Silesia. The history of zinc processing is presented on the basis of a unique technological line for the production of zinc sheets. The technological line consists of, among others melting furnaces, zinc plate heating furnace, casting carousel, roughing and finishing mills, as well as sheet metal shears.

WALCOWNIA also has one of the largest and most comprehensive collection of vintage Harley-Davidson and Indian motorcycles in Poland. Models from 1920 – 1986 are restored and technically functional. During the cyclically organized „Machine Start-ups”, vehicles are started and presented to visitors.
